Five oral-hygiene indices in one report
The platform combines visual plaque assessment with established indices. The numeric value and base interpretation retain each index's own scale; when overall plaque is high, the card colour is conservatively raised to the disclosed screening-risk level and clearly labelled.
Included indices
Reports include Fedorov–Volodkina, API Lange, Green–Vermillion OHI-S, Silness–Löe, and PHP. For OHI-S, the clinician enters the calculus component CI-S separately because a disclosed-plaque photo cannot reliably identify calculus.
- API Lange focuses on interdental plaque.
- Silness–Löe describes plaque thickness near the gingival margin.
- PHP supports discussion of personal brushing effectiveness.
Why statuses differ
The same number can mean different things across indices because each metric has its own scale and units. The base interpretation follows that index's thresholds. To avoid showing a green card when total disclosed plaque is high, the interface applies a conservative minimum screening-risk colour without rewriting the number or clinical scale.
Clinical use
Indices can document baseline status, show problem areas to patients, and compare visits. A professional interprets them alongside history, appliances, implants, and direct examination.
