How Odonta Index AI assesses disclosed dental plaque
The service helps clinicians standardize photos, mark likely disclosed-plaque areas, and calculate oral-hygiene indices. A result remains preliminary until a clinician reviews and confirms it.
From photo to measurement
The workflow uses dental photographs taken after a plaque-disclosing agent is applied. The algorithm estimates stained areas and calculates plaque share for the available views. Lighting, focus, camera angle, and disclosing technique can affect the output.

Clinician responsibility
Odonta Index AI does not diagnose. The clinician compares the markup with the clinical presentation, corrects values when needed, and confirms the final result. Corrections and confirmations are retained in revision history.

Accuracy and validation
We do not publish a clinical accuracy percentage without an independently labelled dataset and a predefined validation protocol. Current measurements support clinical communication and longitudinal follow-up; they are not autonomous medical decisions.
